Today I'm going to review a waterproof Apple Watch case by the Catalyst. Out of all the Apple Watch cases, the Catalyst Waterproof Case for Apple Watch Series 5/4 is one of the higher-rated products due to the functions. Let’s have a look at my hand-on review below.
Out of the box, I'm impressed with the sporty look this case offer. The design follows the general shape of the Apple Watch.
I see this case like an old school diving suit covering my Apple Watch though it does look sportier than other Apple Watch cases so I'm alright with it, and the strap feels durable and comfortable. The case is not flimsy, the edges is not as high as other Apple Watch cases, and no screen protector.
This means getting to your Apple watch is easy. The design is like the general shape of the Apple Watch but I don't know why it gives a bit of bulk. Anyway, at least the case is slick enough to not get caught on my shirt like other Apple Watch case I knew.
I know some of you think that the Apple Watch is already waterproof, and you can take it to snorkel any time you want. It is water-resistant up to 50 metres but it does not mean it’s protected against all the unwanted chemicals in the pool or in the sea.
I think this waterproof feature is to ensure the Apple Watch is waterproof at all times even is salty water. While I think taking it to shower or soaking it in the kitchen sink won't be a problem. I mean electronics and saltwater usually won't mix, so why would anyone want to take a risk with their Apple Watch?
The installation and removal of the Catalyst Waterproof Case for Apple Watch Series 5/4 is complicated than other Apple Watch accessory. I need to pop the device out from the back, which requires a bit of hand strength. The size does take away the sleekness of the Apple Watch, and this makes the sound a bit muted coming from the Apple Watch and phone conversations seemed a little bit disturbing.
|The things I like||The things I hate|
Although the Catalyst Waterproof Case for Apple Watch Series 5/4 is a bit bulky in design but in terms of usage, the case didn’t bother me at all when using it day-to-day basis. I think the case is fully sealed against water, dust, dirt, and snow and has an exposed face for with direct touch screen access. It's great for all the adventure – wet and dry.
Not only is the case rugged, I really think it's also stylish, and the strap is durable and comfortable. With the Catalyst Waterproof Case for Apple Watch Series 5/4, you're getting a waterproof case that you can take snorkelling without worry, and a comfortable strap on your hand. So, that's all about my honest review. If you have any experience as I did, you can share here and let me know what you think.
