Griffin’s Survivor cases usually have a rugged, bulky form of case, but the Griffin Survivor Clear Slim Case and Griffin Survivor Strong Case are both slim with impact dispersion system. Let’s have a look at both case and see the difference between these two clear cases.
Holding the Griffin Survivor Clear case for the first time feels light-weight, and rigid. The scratch-resistant features work very well, but I found a lot of smudges on the case as clear cases tend to appear smudges and scrapes over time, so you need to get the right case with scratch-resistant features like the Griffin Survivor Clear Slim Case.
In terms of drop protection, the case has 1.2 metres of drop protection with impact dispersion system to absorb drop forces before they damage your phone. The cut-outs for the charging and headphone jack is larger than other clear cases, and if you have a set of a big headphone jack, the large cut-outs on the case will fit. The cut-out for the camera is too low too.
The first time we use the Griffin Survivor Strong Case was a bit slippery on the hand, but over time, it wasn’t slippery after all and feels so strong as advertised. It was probably the best clear case that’s so rigid with soft buttons plus there’s drop protection too.
If you consider buying a Griffin Survivor Strong case, choose the smokey version. The reason is white clear cases usually suffer through a bit of rainbowing on the back of the case, but with the smokey cases, you won’t see any rainbowing effects. However, some scratches and smudges will appear in time on the back case.
It’s probably the best clear case that’s so rigid with soft buttons plus there’s drop protection too. The minus part of this case is that you’ll find some scratches and smudges in the future.
In terms of protection, the Griffin Survivor Strong Case is the winner with the highest drop protection. The case has thick edges, which is great to protect the screen. It’s also heavier and grippier than Griffin Survivor Clear Slim Case.
Both cases have the same clear, slim, rigid, and large cut-outs on the headphone jack, and got the same impact dispersion system. But if you prefer Griffin Survivor Clear Slim Case, it’s more light-weight, and scratch-resistant which is nice as clear cases tend to scratch over time.

The strongest case goes to the Griffin Survivor Strong Case. Everything is rigid, heavy and has the highest drop protection of 2.1-metre. However, strong cases also have flaws. Large cut-outs on the headphone jack and charging port makes it less protected but great for a big headphone jack.
Whereas Griffin Survivor Clear Slim Case is a clear case and clear cases tend to appear smudges and scrapes over time, so you need to get the right case with scratch-resistant features like the Griffin Survivor Clear Slim Case. The same downside goes with this case, large cut-outs and smudges all over the back case.
Overall, Griffin Survivor Strong Case is the most rigid, heavy and thick case. Although you might see some scrapes in the future with this case, but the best thing about smokey cases is that you can’t really see the scratches. While Griffin Survivor Clear Slim Case is lightweight and scratch-proof but it's slippery than Griffin Survivor Strong Case.
