Need a great waterproof speaker for the beach, the lake, the river or even the shower? I found a great one and no surprise it’s from House of Marley! The House Of Marley No Bounds speaker is made from their signature ReWind fabric and ReGrind Cork it’s safe for the environment. The box is even made from recycled materials too. Featuring a durable and stylish design, the No Bounds Sport keeps up with any wateradventure. So, let’s have a look at this environment-friendly speaker below!
I always like the aesthetic of the Marley products and the House of Marley No Bounds speaker is no different. It has that kind of cork type look to it throughout, and the base is full cork with a rubber ring to give it some stability when sitting on your table. All No Bounds speakers are crafted from the Marley REWIND™ fabric, REGRIND™ Silicone, REGRIND™ Cork, and Recyclable Aluminum—more natural physicality for your physical lifestyle.
With an IP67 rating, the speaker is both waterproof and dust-proof. In fact, it can even float on the water. It also comes with a rotating volume dial so you can quickly adjust the music. There’s also a micro USB cable too for charging which is sleeved in HoM’s usual fabric. Likewise, it comes with 12-hour battery life, and the red LED charging light will turn off once the battery is full.
The 360-degree sound will give you an experience of powerful sound all around you and offers a full audio experience in any setting. The 360 degrees sound works well but distorts at upper volume levels. However, the overall coverage is excellent.
The IP67 means you can drop it in the water up to a metre deep for 30 minutes and are resistant to dust.
Controls & accessories
The only included accessories are the 55cm (USB to micro-USB) charging cable and a carabiner. As you can see above, the controls are standard apart from the rotary volume control on top of the speaker, which is a beautiful touch.
The buttons are placed around the edge of the cylinder shape with your usual power and Bluetooth as well as play/pause and skip track buttons too. However, they’re a bit hard to see as there are no raised symbols to feel and the symbols are the same colour as the body of the speaker, so it looks camouflage into their environment.
You’ll find a carabiner clip so you can hang the speaker in various locations like in the bathroom for example as it’s waterproof with full IP67 rated. This means you can even bring it to the swimming pool or the beach as it has full protection from water and dust.
The carabiner clip is there to hang the speaker off of various hooks, so whether you’re inside tent, in the tower, in the wild or just walking around with a speaker attached to your belt. It’s strong and won’t get damaged easily.
There are no raised symbols to feel the buttons, so you always need to see what you’re pressing. The track change buttons look like volume controls too, and the buttons have the same colour as the body speaker which is a bit hard for me to differentiate which is the buttons and which is the body.
However, the sound quality is really good for such a small portable speaker. The speaker won’t skip a beat at the beach because of the water and dust-proofing along with a floating design. It Also seems really well made with a cork design and recycled fabric which is environment-friendly. I Will have no worries about taking this everywhere with me, and it’s perfect for my holiday to keep the music playing by the pool.
