As attractive as the Galaxy S9 is, a case can better tailor it to reflect your personality and protect your phone from the vagaries and bumps of everyday life. Recently I've already explained in-depth about Lifeproof Fre but Maybe some of you still confused which one to choose between the Lifeproof Fre and Lifeproof Next to fit in your new Samsung Galaxy S9? Considering that both of the cases have a slightly similar advantage. That’s why I’m here to help you choose which one is the best case to fully protect your new Samsung Galaxy S9. Now, Let’s find out the difference between both cases, and which one stands out right below!
LIFEPROOF FRE WATERPROOF CASE FOR GALAXY S9
Design and Features you’ll love
So, what is the Lifeproof Fre? Fre carries on the LifeProof tradition of true four-proof protection which include dropproof, dustproof, snowproof, and waterproof. Yes, you get the picture, It’s an all-around protective case for your new Samsung Galaxy S9. Your phone will be wrapped by a two-piece shell in 360-degrees protection.
You get the screen cover on the top of the case, and some of you might not like the feel of having a screen cover as it has a plastic feel to it and there is sort of a clicky sound when using it. But, I personally like it as it protects the screen from small to big scratches.
On the bottom of the case, you will find a 3.5 mm headphone port which has a screw design to keep water out, Next to that you have a strong port cover for charging. I really like the button responsiveness of the Lifeproof Fre case where buttons have a nice soft click to them.
On the back, you’ll get the protection for the cameras, hard rate sensor, and the fingerprint radar. The downside is that I found out that when using the fingerprint radar that it wasn’t as accurate as not having the case on, and it might take you a few times registering your finger before you can use the fingerprint radar comfortably and properly.
What’s really nice
What’s nice about the Lifeproof case is the 360-degree protection with peace of mind. I really like the way that the case forms to the Samsung Galaxy S9 phone, the screen cover and the idea of using the phone underwater up to 2 metres for an hour is pretty cool. Of course we do all know that the Samsung Galaxy S9 is already waterproof to an extent but this case gives that added peace of mind. This case is available for Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus too.
Frequently asked question
One question that might come up is that how does it sound when making phone calls or listening to music. I personally found out that making phone calls and listening to music sounded fine and the other person on the other end was able to hear me clearly.
LIFEPROOF NEXT RUGGED CASE FOR GALAXY S9
Design and features you’ll love
A clear case will let you enjoy your new Samsung Galaxy S9 original colour, yet still protect it from scratches and bumps. So, let the look of the Galaxy S9 shine through. This case is dropproof, snowproof, dustproof, and dirtproof. However, it’s not like the Lifeproof Fre case which is a waterproof case if that ‘s what you’re looking for.
The Lifeproof is dropproof from 6 and a half feet and features port plug that seal out dirt, snow, and dust. So, you can take it for a ski in the mountain without worries. Since Lifeproof Next is screenless, you can get direct contact with the display on your phone. The custom design of NEXT keeps all of your buttons and camera ready for action and yes, that includes intelligence scan.
What’s really nice
The nice thing about having this NEXT case on the S9 is that you could have direct contact with your screen and with the clear case of this NEXT case, you’re able to see the true colour of your new Samsung Galaxy S9.
Frequently asked question
The most questions asked is wether it’s safe for the screen without a screen cover. This depends on how you're using your phone. What's "normal" use to some may not be the same for others. If you're on the road, pulling your phone in and out of your pocket or tossing it on tables, it's far more likely to get these tiny scratches. You won't notice them as they accumulate, but once they hit a critical mass, you'll see them. So, it’s safer to have a case with a screen protector like the Fre than screenless case. This case is available for Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus too.
Overall, both cases have the same protection from dust, dirt and snow but there’s a difference between the Fre and the NEXT. The Fre has the screen cover on the case while NEXT doesn’t, and keep in mind that the NEXT is not a waterproof case, but the Fre is waterproof up to 2 metres for 1 hour.
Still wonder and have no idea which one to choose? Well, just start it from syntricate.com.au, because we have both the Lifeproof Fre and Lifeproof NEXT. We love to send it to you for free if you’re living in Australia.
