I was looking for a waterproof case and found the Lifeproof Fre Waterproof Case. I used to doubt about the build-quality as everything is covered with plastic, which I think will be hard to type and press with the plastic screen protector. But, after a week of use, it’s not so bad after all!
The first thing that came up to my mind was how elegant this case was. The contrast of the colour really matched. The mixture of green and black colour on the case looks cool, and since everything is closed with port protection, I thought I’ll have great protection from water and dust.
The contrast of the colour matched and looks elegant. The case comes with a plastic screen protector. The camera, button for blood-pressure, and fingerprint are also covered with a plastic cover. The overall quality is great. There isn’t any flaw with this case. No hard cut and the port protection work really well. The build-quality of the case is worth the money of A$ 84.95 for Samsung Galaxy S9 case.
Since the Lifeproof Fre is made for a waterproof case, everything is sealed. I opened the closed port for charging easily with only one time of opening as some closed port takes a lot of time, and hard to open. The headphone jack is also closed and it's a bit annoying for me to have to open it like opening a screw.
The case comes with a plastic screen protector which is a bit bothering me because there’s a gap or doesn’t intact with the screen. It doesn’t bother when scrolling down the screen, but it does bother me when typing long messages.
It takes time to type messages, and need a couple of times to press the alphabets with the plastic screen protector. It’s different than tempered glass screen protector which sticks with the screen and usually have no problem with typing long messages.
The camera, button for blood-pressure, and fingerprint are also covered with a plastic cover. The camera protection didn’t bother me at all because the quality of the pictures I took was perfect. There’s also a gap with the blood-pressure button, but it didn’t bother me at all.
Another annoying part is the fingerprint scanner. It takes more than one time to scan my finger on the fingerprint scanner. This is because there’s a gap with the fingerprint scanner.
|The things that I find amazing:||The things that I find annoying:|
All sides are closed with the Lifeproof Fre. The screen is covered with a plastic screen protector. The camera, fingerprint, blood pressure buttons are also all covered. Since the cover are all plastic so there will be a gap, unlike tempered glass which sticks.
The gap on the screen protector and fingerprint are a bit disturbing me. The screen protector has a gap or isn’t intact with the screen. It doesn’t bother when scrolling down the screen, but it does bother me when typing long messages. The gap on the fingerprint button also has a gap which takes time to press.
The screen will take time to type, and same goes to the fingerprint scanner, it takes around two or three times to press but if you don’t mind with the slow response. Overall, I love the texture of the colour. It looks so elegant. It does make my phone feels thicker, but everything is sealed, so I feel safe using the case.
The build-quality for a waterproof case is the best because when I removed the case from my phone, I didn’t find any dust on my phone. The ports are all closed from water and dust. The quality of the case is worth the money of A$ 84.95 for Samsung Galaxy S9 case.
If you like chatting and always type long messages, the Lifeproof Fre isn’t for you but if you're always in the water for a long time or hate dust coming in your case, you can try using the the Lifeproof Fre. So, that’s all about my honest review on the Lifeproof Fre. If you have any experience with this case, you can share here and let me know what you think.
