The reality is the material on our phones are made without antibacterial properties, which makes them conducive to bacterial growth. Since I’m a spotless person and I like things clean even my phone case so I searched for cases that can inhibit the growth of bacteria and came across with the two cases from Speck - the Speck Presidio Sport and Speck Presidio Pro case.
Both cases have the same anti-microbial features but is the Speck Presidio Pro the same or better with the Speck Presidio Sport case?
Speck Presidio Sport Impactium Case for iPhone XS/X
Built for your active and sporty lifestyle, Speck Presidio Sport is the first Speck case with the Microban anti-microbial technology. So, whether you bring it for playing sports, gym or run, Microban inhibits the growth of bacteria, and without the Microban, your case will have stains and odours. Moreover, the 360-degree port protection keeps dust and dirt away from your phone's ports, buttons, and mute switch.
Not only clean, but this case is also made to withstand accidental drops of up to 3.6 metres. The ridges of impactium material on the inside compress on impact to absorb and disperse shock in case the phone drops. In my experience, the no-slip grip exterior does provide a secure hold even when my hands are sweaty.
Speck Presidio Pro Impactium Case for iPhone XS/X
Some people consider the Speck Presidio Sport to be a little bulky so Speck decided to make the Speck Presidio Pro. Just like the Sport, the Pro also has the Microban antimicrobial technology, drop protection, but with this one, the drop protection is 3 metres, which is less than the Sport. But unlike the Sport, the Pro has no ports to cover it from dust, but I like it this way since the port cover doesn’t lay flat when it’s open.
This case is easy to get my phone in and out, just line it up one side then push the other side in. Removing is also easy, just push it the back while peeling back the top and the phone will come out. I love the no-slip grip feature because it’s pretty grippy on my hand, but I find it not as grippy as the Sport.
Anti-microbial treatment

Microban is a company that’s been around for over three decades fighting damaging microbial growth before it starts. The anti-Microban is not a feature that you can tell or see so perhaps think about how many times do you set your phone down on the seat, hand it to someone else to share a website or photos? We can already imagine how dirty is our case, but we just don’t see it because it’s hard to see with a naked eye.
Differences
One question you might be wondering is how the design of the Speck Presidio Sport compares with Speck Presidio Pro. Both are great cases as they both have the same kind of a soft touch and antimicrobial finish, but there are differences between them. The Speck Presidio Sport case seems to have a little bit of a grippy or finish than the Speck Presidio Pro. There's port protection with the Speck Presidio Sport but not with the Speck Presidio Pro.
When looking at the size, the Speck Presidio Sport is thicker and taller than the Speck Presidio Pro, so both of these are great cases I think it just depends upon what you're looking for in a phone case. If you don’t mind the case to be thick and protected with ports then choose Speck Presidio Sport but if you want thinner and smaller size with no ports, the Speck Presidio Pro is the one.
Simmilarities
Both cases have the Microban technology and 360-degree protection, raised bezel screen protection, tested by independent labs to ensure superior protection and impact shock barrier.
Installation
Installing on both case is pretty easy thanks to the flex corners in Speck’s design. You can start installing it from the left side of the phone so that the mute switch and volume keys tuck under the edge of the case, then press down on the right corners of the phone until fully seated.

Conclusion
Speck cases are tested in their lab other than the real 3 metres drop test outside, and I doubt about the drop protection because it’s done in the lab instead of a real drop testing outside. However, to differentiate between these cases, the Speck Presidio Pro is a thinner case with no ports and still got the anti-microbial technology.
The Pro is $5 cheaper but doesn’t come with the ports as the Presidio Sport does. If you want a clean and sporty case with more drop protection and port protection, the Speck Presidio Sport is the right one for you, but if you don’t really need quite so much drop protection and port protection, then it’s the Speck Presidio Pro.
