UAG Monarch Handcrafted Leather Alloy Case Review : Tough Looking Case But Light-weight

uag monarch handcrafted leather alloy case review

I got the UAG Monarch Handcrafted Leather Alloy Case for a week now, and it turns out to be light-weight, and yet it’s quite protective. Though the back of the case is pretty thick with various combination of material, it doesn't add much bulk to my mobile phone.

First impression

On first sight, I see the back as a ruggedly handsome case. It’s not as heavy as it looks, and the masculine looks don’t add much bulk to my iPhone. I believe this case to have excellent drop protection. Since the phone fits very well with the phone, I doubt there will be any dust going in the case.

Build Quality

This case certainly offers plenty of back protection for the casual user. The patterns feel so detailed, and the material feels very thick. The combination of leather and metal in a rubber case is a nice classy touch. This is an excellent case for a masculine look style. The edges of the case feel like hard rubber with a deep honeycomb pattern.

Functionality

Everything functions normally with this case on. The case fits well with the phone with no gaps. This means the dust won’t get in the case, but the places where you might get dust is from the cut-outs for ports and buttons. There’s like a tiny cut-out below the button. I’m not sure what that is, but I think it’s for air for the phone.

I think the pattern makes the case grippy on my hand, slips in and out of the pocket easily and doesn’t attract dust. The lightning port cut-out is large, but there’s protection inside for the dust too.

The things that I find amazing: The things that I find annoying:
  • Thick back case
  • Precise and clicky buttons
  • Unique patterns at the back and inside of the case
  • Thin raised bezel and edges
  • Charging and a headphone jack is open ( no closed ports )

Conclusion

I personally think the UAG Monarch Handcrafted Leather Alloy Case is the best slim minimalist case that I ever use. The reason is that all the combination of leather, metal, and plastic gives it a strong touch without giving a bulk.

The back isn’t flat, so it’s not easily damaged when dropping backside first. It fits very well with the phone with no gaps at all, which means no dust can come inside the case accept from the cut-out for lightning port below. So, there’s no need for cleaning the case every week.

It comes on a pretty high price of A$79.95 for the Samsung Galaxy S9 case but comes with many advantages such as the thick material and a combination of material for this case protects the backside of the case, the tight fit without dust coming in and also the handsome look makes it worth it.

I hate changing cases, so I think I’ll stick with this case for a couple of more years since there’s a great dust protection too on the lightning port and fits very well without gap. I recommend this case to any of you guys who love the ruggedly handsome aesthetic with the combination of various materials. It's such a protective case while remaining light-weight to carry it around on your adventures.

I think it’s worth the price with all the masculine look and protection at the same time. So, that’s all about my honest review with the UAG Monarch Handcrafted Leather Alloy Case. If you have any experience with the case, you can share here and let me know what you think.
