The extreme machine look of UAG Monarch Handcrafted Leather Alloy Case and UAG Plasma Armor Shell Case are balanced with the lightweight feel of both cases. These masculine-looking case looks very tough but won't weigh you down.
My First Impression On Both Cases
The obvious difference is one case is clear, and one is black. Somehow these cases have similar patterns. Both feel solid but thicker on the UAG Monarch Handcrafted Leather Alloy Case.
The masculine looks will be sure to appeal to many people, and the strong touch of leather, metal, and plastic at the back looks thick but doesn’t feel heavy at all. All these combinations come at a price of A$79.95 for the Samsung Galaxy S9 case.
My first impression was that this is a ruggedly handsome case. It does look heavy, but fortunately, it doesn’t add a lot of bulk. The thick back seems to have great drop protection. Since the phone fits very well with the phone, I doubt there will be any dust going in the case from the sides.
The UAG Plasma Armor Shell Case is the clear version and comes cheaper at a price of A$49.95. Although it comes in a clear plastic case but still got similar patterns from UAG Monarch Handcrafted Leather Alloy Case. It’s a bit expensive for me, but since there are five circular patches and thick edges for protection, I’ll give it a try.
The first impression worries me a bit because of the thin backside of the case. I looked at the back closely and was curious about the five little circular patches. I think the rubbery spot might all be off someday in the future and will leave with five holes. Anyway, although thinner but the case still has a great balance between slimness and protection and got the unique army style.
The main difference is the materials in both cases. The UAG Plasma Armor Shell Case is a simple plastic case with rubber spots on the back while the UAG Monarch Handcrafted Leather Alloy Case has a thick material with a combination of rubber, plastic, metal and leather.
The design and patterns of both cases are somehow the same, the deep camera protection, volume buttons and cut-outs for the lightning ports. The bumper on the sides goes all the way to the back edge and a double bumper on the edges for drop protection, and since most drops usually drop first from the corner, this is great for protecting it.
Although both have the same size cut-outs for the lightning cable which is a bit large but there’s a small thin protector for the dust. The plus from these two cases is the tight fit, so the dust won’t quickly get in the case.

The plus from these two cases is the tight fit, so the dust won’t quickly get in the case. I think it’s worth the price of A$79.95 for the UAG Monarch Handcrafted Leather Alloy on Samsung Galaxy S9 case with all the masculine look and thick protection at the same time. While the UAG Plasma Armor Shell Case has the lowest price between these two cases. I think it’salso worth it for the UAG Plasma Armor Shell Case at the price of A$49.95 since it’s not as thick as the UAG Plasma Armor Shell Case but I was hoping for a less price for this smokey clear plastic case.
Now, it comes back again to your taste, whether you like it clear or black. For me, I’ll choose UAG Monarch Handcrafted Leather Alloy Case because of the thick back and scratch-proof material. If you’re looking for a simple case with drop protection, camera and back protection, I recommend the UAG Monarch Handcrafted Leather Alloy Case. If you want a clear case with some back protection, and camera protection, the UAG Plasma Armor Shell Case is the way to go.
So, that’s all about my honest review with the UAG Monarch Handcrafted Leather Alloy Case and UAG Plasma Armor Shell Case. If you have any experience with the case, you can share here and let me know what you think.
