zagg ifrogz audio impulse wireless earbuds bluetooth review

I enjoy using wireless headphones at the gym, but then it was always on my ear, on the go, or talking on the phone. I’ve used some wireless earbuds before and would like to share with you the Zagg iFrogz Impulse Wireless earbuds. Is it better than other wireless earbuds? And is it affordable and easy to use?

Design & Features

The wireless earbuds are similar to other wireless earbuds. The earbuds are controlled by the 3 button clip at the centre, but the magnetic clip isn’t strong either. If you tug on it enough, you can pull the clip off. I feel that the earbuds are lightweight in the ear and make sure to use the right size earbuds as there are ranges of earbuds to choose from. The clip is easy to use, I just clip them on the collar of my t-shirt and keeps it in place.

The pairing process is pretty simple, I would advise everyone to keep the manual for future reference about the various button options located on the wireless hub. Carrying it around is simple too, you just wrap it around the hub but unfortunately, there isn’t a small case to put them away. Anyway, it doesn’t matter to me because even after extensive use, they are not loose or flimsy.

Although the earbuds are small but the sound is alright, not a lot of basses and not a lot of mid-range. It’s more kind of high-end and some mid-range. At medium volume, you have an even sound. Vocals are loud, but the beats can get be distorted.

Therefore, if you’re looking for bass, I think these are definitely not the earphones you want to look for as they're inexpensive earphones. I suggest not turning the volume all the way up since these can get really loud.

Battery Life

One of the biggest drawbacks to any Bluetooth device is battery life but not with these earbuds, The battery life is great since I just need to charge it 3 times a week. I only need to charge it an hour and 15 minutes to get it fully charged. Make sure to turn them off as they don’t have a standby or doze feature.

Advantages Disadvantages
  • Sweat proof
  • Battery life is great
  • Sound can get really loud
  • No small case for the earbuds

  • Drivers: 11mm
  • Resistance: 16 Ohms
  • Sensitivity: 97dB +/- 3dB
  • Frequency: 20Hz - 20KHz
  • Cable Length: 35cm
  • Working Time: 5h
  • Charging Time: 60min
  • Bluetooth Range: 30ft

In conclusion, the Zagg iFrogz Impulse Wireless Earbuds are lightweight and can easily clip on the back of your shirt. They stay in place while I'm working around the house or working. I can easily connect it to my iPhone and to my Microsoft Surface. There is no lag time on the voices of the performers.

I'm impressed with the sweat resistance of these earbuds. It's not just the design of the openings where sweat could get in, but the way the 'main body' of the headphones clips to your shirt also prevents sweat from damaging these buds. The sound is a little lacklustre, a little bit muddy in the bass and needs more clarity in the highs.

With the price of A$69.95, is worth for a light-weight, wireless headphone for smartphone or computer TV watching. However, if you want great music, sound quality - look elsewhere.
